About Me

My name is Mrs. Orfanel.  I am a math catalyst at Chief Taylor School.  I have worked in Onion Lake since 2005.  I grew up in Lloydminster and went to university at the University of Saskatchewan.  I have my Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Music in Music Education degrees.  I taught music for 9 years, grade 5 for 3 year and have been the math catalyst since the 2018/2019 school year.  For the 2020/21 school year I will be continuing my work at Chief Taylor School as a math catalyst.

I have been married since 2014.  I have one dog, and no children yet.  My husband and I are working on adoption.  I love to travel.  When I was in grade 12 I was able to save up enough of my own money to go to France and Italy on a school trip.  Ever since then, I have loved to travel the world.  I like to have the tourist experience for a bit, but I much prefer to experience what it is actually like to live in other countries, and I have definitely seen how lucky we are to live where we do.  I have been to France, Italy, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Mexico and the Philippines.  One if my dreams is to be able to see every province and territory in Canada.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening, kayaking and walking the dog.  I enjoy learning to cook new foods as well.  Family is extremely important to me, and I work hard to maintain a close relationship with all of my immediate family.
